Lovely Lepidopterans

Quick little paint sketches (all <60min) done during summer afternoons. All are lovely Aussie butterflies! Common names are in descriptions.

Fiery jewel (Hypochrysops ignita) A tiny, apparently drab butterfly with iridescent underwings.

Red-bodied swallowtail (Atrophaneura polydorus) Large and always eye-catching!

Swordgrass brown (Tisiphone abeona) Understated but gorgeous in it's own right.
